Our adventure to the National Museum

Jakarta is a more industrial location in Indonesia. We went to the National Museum. It's a very interesting building to visit and it was offically opened in 1868 and became known as the elephant house because of the bronze elephant statues in the front yard. They were donated by King Chulalongkorn from Thailand in 1871. Right now the museum has collections of over 109, 342 objects to see on display. The museum also organizes lectures for the public that you can go attend but don't go before 8:30 AM because they don't open until then and they close at 2:30 PM and are closed on Monday(1.) .

We paid 750 Rp (2.)and it covered admission to all the attractions. Children and students pay 250 Rp and there is also a small gift shop located in the entrance hall but it's way over priced so we don't suggest going there. Try the local markets for good buys.
